Today is a day for the mourners of Margaret Thatcher to pay their respects
(all expenses paid of course, in case the respect didn't reach far enough to put their hands in their own pockets)
It should also be a day for those of us old enough to remember her years in power.
I remember. Prior to her we had hope and a society that showed compassion for the disadvantaged and disabled. We had communities that hung together in times of distress. WE, the working people, were striving for our own betterment - something that stuck in the throats of the ruling class. Thats why Thatcher destroyed all she could of the societal and community strengths of the common people. She took notice and copied as far as she could the despotism of her friend Pinochet, admired the Khmer Rouge and the Saudis and denounced Mandela as a simple terrorist whilst vetoing sanctions against apartheid S Africa. Hell is too nice a place for someone of her monstrous vindictiveness.
